Szczecin: From Artists to the Pope
They were supposed to be celebrating International Theater Day, when the death of the Pope filled their hearts with dejection. Szczecin's Actors layed flowers and a sash display representing ZASP (the Polish Actor's Guild) at the feet of a portrait of the Pope which they themselves erected.
"They also foresee honoring the Pope with their art. At eight o'clock, on Friday, in the amphitheater, they will read poetry and fragments of John Paul II's Roman Triptych.
The Philharmonic Orchestra of Szczecin will perform Mozart's Requiem, after which they will make way towards a statue of the Pope on 'Jasne Blonie' for a candle light vigil. Candles will be lit symbolically at 21.37"
